Grover Hot Springs State Park is situated in a small alpine valley of forest and meadows at 6000'. Best known for its hot pool that is fed by hot springs, the small campground is also a popular family destination. A trout creek runs through the park and hiking trails lead into scenic Forest Service lands. The hot pool and recreation pool are open all year. During the winter there are a limited number of campsites available first come-first served, and cross country skiing and snow shoeing in the valley. Check the State Parks website for additional information on the weather, suggested day hikes, or to see the park brochure, campground map, park photos, video, and more. importantInformation Discount Pass must be presented at the time of check in. Your DMV Disabled Placard/License Plate does not automatically give you a discount on your campsite. You will need to obtain a CA State park-issued Disabled Discount Pass (DDP) or Distinguished Veterans Pass (DVP). This park is site specific; you will select your site at the time you make your reservation. WARNING : Metal bear resistant food lockers are provided in each campsite and MUST be used. All food, beverages, toiletries, and empty ice chests are required by law to be stored in the provided food lockers. See each campsite's detail page for specific bear resistant food locker inside dimensions. Violators are subject to confiscation of food and/or citation. Camp at your own risk! By choosing to enter or camp at Grover Hot Springs State Park you assume the risk of personal injury and/or property damage caused by bears. The summer campground only accommodates motorhomes up to 27 feet long and trailers up to 24 feet long (as measured from the rear bumper of the vehicle to the rear bumper of the trailer). We do not have hook-ups of any kind or a dump station. Fees include entry for 1 vehicle and 1 legally towed vehicle or trailer, additional vehicles will be charged per night at the park. Although your site may hold 2 or more vehicles, your reservation only covers 1 vehicle (except for group or specialty sites). 2017 Reservation Season: Loop 1 (Sites 1-34): 1st1st April 21-May 18; reservations available May 19 -September 3, 1st1st September 4-October 15; CLOSED when not on reservations or 1st1st. Loop 2 (Sites 35-76): Reservations available May 19-September 3; CLOSED when not on reservations. Winter camping is available in the Day Use area. The last night of reservations for the summer campground will be Sunday, September 3. Starting Monday, September 4 (Labor Day), the park will be first-come, first-serve only. The summer campground will remain open until freezing weather (usually mid- to late- October). The park will open the winter campground the same day they close the summer campground. The winter campground will only accommodate RVs and trailers 18 feet and shorter. If you have questions, call the park at (530) 694-2248.
